Wax carve a silver ring - lost wax carving

  • Wax carving is a technique used by jewellers to carve and craft pieces of jewellery in a material that is cheap, easily shaped and forgiving!

    Jewellers wax allows makers to be creative and test ideas before committing to metal.

    In this unique 2.5 hour class, you will be guided with expert tuition on the techniques on how to carve jeweller’s wax into a ring.

    You’ll be shown how to sculpt and carve jewellers wax, learn about the casting process, and carve a ring ready to be cast in silver.

    Once you have completed your design in wax, your design will then be sent off to be cast in silver using the lost wax casting process.

    We will then finish the ring in our workshop and post the finished product back to the hands that carved them!

  • * Glasses are recommended if you need them for reading.

    * Feel free to bring any images of styles that inspire your design.

    * If you're creating a ring for someone else, please obtain their ring size or bring a ring that we can size in the studio.

  • Of course! We offer one-to-one sessions and can accommodate birthday, hen, and bucks parties of all sizes!

    Our instructor is delighted to travel to your location for private group sessions. You'll enjoy the convenience of learning in the comfort of your own home, or accommodation, with our instructor bringing all necessary materials and tools to facilitate the session wherever you are.
